Just went thru my mailbox today and found this letter sent in by Snookle concerning the advantages that factions recieve:
Omni-Tek Shops give a 5% discount to all items. This was found with 2 characters that both have 15 computer lit. Additionally, 200 points of computer lit will give a 17.857% discount, tested with higher level omni tek chars and one of the previous chars

As for armors, Omni-Tek can wear Omni armor which has the same Melee/imp/proj as other non-omni armors. Omni-Tek armor will be omni only after 12.5 patch. Otherwise, omni-pol elite has cold, fire, and radiation protection that is 61% of it's main 3 ACs. Melee and tank armor has 1.02% more Armor Class than Caster Armor, otherwise caster armor has 28.2% more AC than melee armor. A battle suit has 17.6% more melee AC than melee and tank armor. Steel ribbed(sense/agi) has the same AC as melee armor. Post 12.5 you will be seeing Omni-Tek Battle Suits that have the same AC as other Battle Suits. Anyone wanting to crack into Uncle Omni's armor bank as a clan member(though there isn't much more there but variety. clans can get goos armor in 12.5) can make an omni tek alt buy armor for a clan member. It has been done, and it continues to be done.

When clan members get their skill bonus it should be in line with the advantage omni-tek has, which is their 5% store discount. The only armor advantage with Omni-Pol is that it looks good, and gives several AC types in one. The only relevent armor type on it is Fire, which is widely used against freedom arms in pvp.. Just to put the omni discount into perspective; the credits saved would be the same as getting half of a mission's credit reward whenever you upgrade all of your equipment. This is not a great advantage when they can be completed in under 5 minutes each.
